As a pop realist artist, I work in a variety of media, primarily oil and acrylic painting along with mixed media sculptures, depicting various facets of American life. Spending my childhood and early adult years in Florida has been a huge influence, as I draw inspiration from the characters and lifestyles found in its unique culture. I highlight the less-glamorous, but cherished aspects of the Sunshine State. My love of portraiture and classical training in art drives me to depict subjects realistically, but with an emphasis on emotions and narrative rather than perfect realism. Currently based in Southern California, I am working on pieces that reflect my upbringing and environment. Each piece is a part of my story and both new feelings and nostalgic remembrance are constantly at play as I move through the creative process.
